I enjoyed the subject matter of this book. It is a completely new concept to me that crowd funding has a counterpart in crowd sourcing, specifically in the area of legislation. While I agree that direct democracy was not what the framers of the constitution had in mind. I also do not think they could have envisioned a future with the technological advances as well as the many problems that face our society. This book does a great job of explaining what crowdsourcing is, as well as what crowd funding is, in plain terms for every reader. The book also goes into detail regarding the other countries that have used crowd sourcing for legislation effectively. Among other things there are also examples of how crowd funding has become the forefront for raising capital for several industries in America and many small business & individuals. The major concern regarding using this type of format to generate legislation is the size of our country as well as the differences among our state, municipal, and local governments. However the idea that legislation could start from a grassroots or local level is also a good suggestion in this book. The only issue would be that there is an actual formatting error throughout the book that makes it hard to read in certain areas. It may be something the author or editor will need to look into going forward with future editions of the book or if it is printed in paperback. Overall I think the book is a good read with good information however, I feel like the best way to apply these solutions was left general without a concise idea of how it can become common practice. But, this is fine at this point because it requires more than just a few people, or this author's opinion to make this become a reality.
